House Rules
General house rules guidelines for vacation rental guests. Individual properties may have specific rules listed on their listing page.
1. Arrival and Departure
- Check-in time: Most properties have a check-in window between 3:00 PM – 5:00 PM local time. Exact check-in instructions are sent to you 24 hours before arrival.
- Check-out time: Most properties require checkout by 10:00 AM or 11:00 AM. Please leave the property by the stated checkout time to allow the cleaning team to prepare for the next guest.
- Key pickup: Most properties use smart locks, key boxes, or code-based entry. The access code will be in your guest portal. Do not share access codes with non-staying guests.
- Early check-in / late checkout: If available, you can request early check-in or late checkout through your guest portal for an additional fee set by the PM.
2. Maximum Occupancy
The number of guests staying at the property must not exceed the number listed in your booking confirmation (plus infants in cribs, where applicable). Unapproved additional guests may result in additional charges or cancellation of your booking without refund.
3. Noise and Quiet Hours
Most residential areas have quiet hours between 10:00 PM and 8:00 AM. Please be respectful of neighbors by keeping noise levels appropriate during these hours. Excessive noise complaints may result in early termination of your booking without refund.
Parties and large gatherings are prohibited at all RentLaunch properties unless explicitly permitted by the PM in writing.
4. Smoking
Smoking policies vary by property. Check the specific listing's "House Rules" section. In general, smoking is prohibited inside all properties unless explicitly allowed. Violations may result in additional cleaning charges deducted from your security deposit.
5. Pets
Pet policies are set by each PM. If a property is listed as "Pet Friendly," you may bring your pet. Pet fees (if any) are disclosed on the listing. You can add a pet after booking via your guest portal. Pets must be supervised and cleaned up after. If a property allows more than the booked number of pets, contact the PM first.
6. Parking
Parking availability and rules (number of vehicles, street parking vs. driveway) are listed on each property's "House Rules." Follow the stated parking instructions. Do not park in spots reserved for other residents or block driveways.
7. Reporting Maintenance Issues
If you encounter any issues with the property (broken appliances, plumbing problems, HVAC issues), report them immediately through your guest portal. Do not attempt to repair issues yourself. PMs are responsible for addressing maintenance issues in a timely manner. If the issue cannot be resolved, contact RentLaunch support.
8. Security and Safety
- Lock doors and windows when leaving the property.
- Do not leave valuables unattended.
- If there is an emergency (fire, break-in, medical), call 911 first, then notify the PM and RentLaunch.
- Do not Tamper with smoke detectors, carbon monoxide detectors, or fire extinguishers.
9. Cleanliness Expectations
A professional cleaning fee is charged on most bookings. You are expected to:
- Dispose of trash in the designated bins.
- Load dishes into the dishwasher or wash them before leaving.
- Remove personal food and belongings from the refrigerator.
- Strip beds and leave towels in a pile (not on furniture).
Excessive mess, stained linens, or damages may result in additional charges deducted from your security deposit.
10. Violations and Enforcement
Violations of house rules may result in:
- Additional charges to your payment method or security deposit
- Early termination of your booking without refund
- Suspension of your RentLaunch account
If you have a dispute about house rule enforcement, contact support@getrentlaunch.com.
11. Property-Specific Rules
Each PM may add specific house rules to their property listing. Always read the property's House Rules section before confirming your booking. These override these general guidelines where they differ.
